Letchworth State Park, “The Grand Canyon of the East,” is home to a dramatic natural beauty and unique history like no other. The park serves many functions for its 750,000 visitors each year. Whether they come to hike, camp, take a scenic hot air balloon ride, go white water rafting, study geology, ecology and biology, or to simply appreciate nature Letchworth State Park offers it all.
The addition of the Letchworth Nature Center will allow visitors to delve deeper into the Letchworth story than ever before. The Nature Center will be a four-season venue where everyone can come to appreciate and understand the park’s exceptional beauty, diverse recreational offerings, abundant geological, natural and cultural histories, and its varied ecosystems. Interactive exhibits and programs will help visitors develop their observational skills and guide them to seasonal attractions in the park. For students and teachers, it will serve as a valuable resource for expanded research, education and exploration.
