Each year, we present our Barnabas McHenry Hudson River Awards to up to four exceptional young leaders in the fields of environmental conservation, historic preservation, environmental justice, the arts, and tourism.

Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund
OSI will begin accepting Forestland capital grant applications to the Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund on March 11, 2024, through 5:00 pm EDT on April 22, 2024. Award decisions will be announced July 2024.
OSI is continuing to consider proposals for Transaction Grants as well as Catalyst Grants on a rolling basis. Find an overview of the Transaction Grants here, and an overview of the Catalyst Grant program online application here.
If you missed the informational applicant webinar on February 7, 2024, “OSI’s Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund ~ Information Regarding the Final Round of Funding", you may view the recording HERE. The webinar covered changes to the application process and updates to grant criteria, including geography, project readiness, and match.

Appalachian Landscapes Protection Fund
OSI is now accepting proposals to the Appalachian Landscapes Protection Fund in the following focus regions: Central & Western Pennsylvania, Northern Appalachians and the Cradle of Southern Appalachia. Proposals will be accepted through 5:00 PM EDT on June 14, 2024. Applicants will receive notice of awards by the end of August 2024.
OSI will be hosting an informational applicant webinar on May 16, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:30 PM EDT. During the session, staff will cover details of the application process and grant criteria, including geography, project readiness, and match, as well as allow time for live Q&A from attendees. Please be sure to REGISTER HERE and join us for the free session.

Climate Catalyst Program
The Land and Climate Catalyst Grant program is a joint initiative of OSI and the Land Trust Alliance (The Alliance) that awards grants to support development of climate-informed land protection and forest stewardship plans.
OSI and the Alliance are currently accepting Land and Climate Grant applications through May 17, 2024. Read the full Request for Proposals and information on how to apply here.

Program staff will also offer three virtual “office hours” sessions, where applicants can ask questions and receive feedback on project proposals. Register here to schedule a 20-minute individual consultation with program staff.
