Map OSI Where We Work

Acre by acre, OSI protects open spaces across the eastern United States creating parks, supporting working forests and farms, protecting natural resources, and preserving historic sites. The New York Land Protection Program, through direct acquisition and conservation easements, has conserved nearly 100,000 acres in New York State. The Conservation Finance Program has assisted in the protection of an additional 1.6 million in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Georgia, and North Carolina.

To learn more about the landscapes you love, use the sidebar on the right, to search by location or theme, and discover a world of open spaces.

OSI recognizes the value in keeping working family farms viable, as a source of local food production, connection to an historic past, a sustainable economy, and as a supply source for nearby markets.
