As our 40th Year comes to a close, the Open Space Institute has set into motion the conservation of more than 17,000 acres of forests, farms, preserves and wildlife habitat. We are on track to directly protect 6,500 acres in New York and almost 2,500 acres in South Carolina and New Jersey. Through our grants program, OSI will finish the year assisting in the preservation of some 9,000 acres along the eastern seaboard.
