New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens will join the Open Space Institute this summer.  Martens, who spent more than four years serving in Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration, will add his talent and expertise to OSI as a consultant focusing on national climate change policy.

In a unique transborder land protection effort, two leading conservation organizations are working together to safeguard wildlife and water quality in Canada and the United States. OSI is providing $82,000 from its Transborder Fund to the Nature Conservancy of Canada to protect 388 acres (157 hectares), in cross-border land protection projects in eastern North America.
